LabVIEW doesn't see Chroma 63205, but can send signal

Hi,

I'm trying to connect Chroma 63205 electronic load to LabVIEW. I use an RS232 cable connected with a Serial-to-USB converter to connect the load's RS232 port to the laptop's USB port. The problem is that LabVIEW doesn't seem to see the load. The load doesn't appear under "Connected Instruments" list in NI Instrument Driver Finder. When I click "Scan for Instruments," the LCD on the load changes to say REMOTE MODE, indicating that it received a command.

Please help!

Thanks,

It's not supposed to show up. The only thing that you should see is the actual com port.

I have the same setup for a YOKOGAWA power analyzer and an Agilent Datalogger. They both show up on the Connected Instruments list.

Serial?  I have not seen that work.  I've only seen the instruments show up under a GPIB connection.

Because there are so many possibilities for a serial connection, no attempt is made to find serial instruments. As long as the com port is listed in MAX, you are good to go to debug the connection.
