LabVIEW DSC 8.20 OPC compliance

Hi,

working in the field of industrial automation, we tried to connect LabVIEW DSC 8.20 via network to an SimaticNet OPC Server (LVProject -> New IOServer->OPC->Network->machine->OPC.SimaticNET). This server is DA 1.0A and 2.0 compliant. All DCOM settings are checked and ok. On the target PC runs W2000, client machine is a XP SP2 PC.

Connection to the server can be established, groups and items are visible and can be linked to an variable.

While executing an error is occurred:

-1950679035 source: ni_tagger_Lv_Read

The same result we got with a Matricon OPC Demoserver.

What should we do?

Hi,
use  Monitor Variables to debug the connection . If you get "process failed" in the Quality column, then there is something wrong with the security settings. I got the same situations as you, win2000 as server and XP sp2 as client and I never got rid of "process failed" message, so I put the client on win2000 and worked fine.
