I'm having this same problem in LabVIEW7.1:

except that, this time, the error says:
VI "xyz.vi" was stopped at node 0x3FC of subVI "age82xx Set Output Power State.vi"
("age82xx Set Output Power State.vi" is part if a VI library for an Agilent E8254A Signal Generator. All of the VI's for this instrument have their inputs and outputs mapped directly to an external function in a common DLL.)
If I dismiss the error and re-start the VI, it runs just fine.
