LVRTE 2012 install refuses because of higher versions already installed

probably LVRTE 2012 is installed, but not visible in programs and features NI programs...

In C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time, they are all visible...

perhaps another reason why the LV application quits/dissapears without notice... (e.g. security dongle)

Did you see the Run-Time Engine (and/or other components) in your NI MAX Report?
