LV2016 Freezing - Actor Framework- Create Abstract Message with enum

I'm getting LabVIEW to freeze or at least become unresponsive every time I follow these steps.

1. While coding in actor framework, I right click an actor and create an abstract message for caller.
2. Once I give it a name (no reference), I drop an enum into the attributes.
3. Right click the enum, and edit items.
4. Click into the Items field to change the first value.
5. Now LabVIEW is frozen for me. The only thing I can do is kill it in task manager.

This even happens on a fresh actor framework project for me.

I found a CAR 591888 that already exists for this.

It's actually a bit more than what you described because if you open the property menu of any control and make any change it will show this behavior. For example, I dropped a numeric control, checked the box to make the label visible, and LabVIEW is now hanging.
