LV2011 no longer BETA?

Solved!
Go to solution

My company ordered another copy of LV for a project I'm starting. It arrived today and it is LabVIEW 2011.

Is this a mistake? Should I return it for 2010 or use it?

I cant afford a bunch of problems with this project.

Is it actually LV2011, or is it marked something like "NI Developer Suite 2011" which actually contains LV2010 SP1?  I wish they wouldn't do that, but they do.  Check the white paper sheets for the actual software versions that are included.

The name of the dev suite is not at all the same as the version of LabVIEW that it may have. See here.

It seems to be 2011. I started the installer and even it said 2011.

2011 DS 1.

The white paper says 2010 sp1 but the installer says 2011.

Confusing.

Note 'DS'. Did you read NI's explanation that I linked to?

If you continue far enough through the installer to pick which products to install, see what it says when you expand out the "NI Developer Suite Core."  You should see that the version of LabVIEW to be installed is 2010 SP1, despite everything else on the disc saying 2011.
