LV 8.0 PDA Image Depth Error

Hi AESulzer.

Unfortunately you did not read the email carefully.
For what kind of reason would I reduce a 24bit bitmap
to a 8bit jpg? I need the 24 bit color res.

In the meantime I found several other bugs in LV PDA 8
and I am dissapointed about the loosy quality of this
product compared to LabVIEW for the PC and MAC.

While beeing disapointed I heared from some other ppl
who tryed to use this toolkit that they have the same problems
like me and they have lost a lot of money too. The is a losy
support from NI too. There is NO NI member in germany who
is capable to support this porduct. NI members in germany
say that they are not allowed to have a look into the password
protected VIs so they can not support the product because
they simply don't now what is going on with this toolkit.
All they can do is to report the bugs to Austin and hope to
get a soon answer concerning the reported bug. As long as
there is no answer the customer is alone with the problem.

They are all willing to help me with my problems but they don't
get any usefull answers from Austin. Since I have started the
project I have found several bugs and all are correct but still
silence from NI.

With kind regards

Hey Martin

Thank you for your feedback. If you could elaborate on the kind of issues you have run into when working with LV PDA 8.0, we could work towards fixing those problems and making it a better product for our customers.

Also, if you could attach the 10 KB JPG that you are trying to load, we could try and figure out why it is causing a problem. We have tested the Load Image VI with many jpeg files and I cannot reproduce the issue without having a look at your VI or jpeg file.

Thanks again.

I faced the same problem... and got to the same conclusion of replacing the "PDA LOAD IMAGE " VI with the BMP VI..

I opened a 24-bit BMP, converted to greyscale, (2D array 8-bit 0-255).. now trying to put it on display...

got any clues.. how to do that..

when using the DRAW flattened pixmap.. (8-bit.. i get distorted colors.. however the same image structure is preserved).

Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. The color distortion, as shown in the attached VI, has been recognized as a bug in LabVIEW PDA 8.0.1, and has been fixed for the future release, LabVIEW PDA 8.20. When you mentioned using Draw Flattened Pixmap, did you mean Draw 8-bit pixmap as in your attached VI, or the Draw Flattened Pixmap that is also on the Graphics palette?

Thanks again
