We are on f2 now???

Edit: It seemed like it updated but the splash screen still says f1.

They'll fix that in f3...

Yep, I just did the f2 update and my splash screen still showed f1.  It is also taking a very long time to load while taking 20-25% of my CPU.  I haven't rebooted my system yet, so maybe I should do that...

So ended up uninstalling LabVIEW 2020, downloading the offline f2 version, and install it again.  It it working again, but everything on the executable (properties, splash screen, about window) all state f1.

My colleague installed f2, when f1 was not visible. Installing f2 failed, but after a reboot, the LabVIEW about shows f1... So I guess it worked, or at least partially.

Is there a list of f2 fixes? Shouldn't these lists be easier to find?

They should be added to the LabVIEW 2020 Bug Fixes list.  I am regularly checking it for the update.

As for now, if f1 does not show up in the packagemangager. But f2 does show up, install it. Even if f2 fails (as it did at my computer I killed the install after 4hours) then f1 may be correctly installed (I tested some of the bugfixes of f1 and they are there.)

In general, does anybody know of a way to install fixes without using the package manager?

I found full dev installations (not just the patch) in the usual place here for f1 and f2 (https://www.ni.com/en-nz/support/downloads/software-products/download.labview.html# ). I disabled the "driver software" option to see them, which I stumbled on by accident. Browsing to the same page now though the links seem to have disappeared....

With f2, I notice that there is an issue with the dev environment slowing to a crawl whenever any work is performed in another application context (eg. application builder, unit tests etc.), especially if the project contains many classes. I never had this issue with the pure f0 install. I might have to revert back - lucky I virtualize and did a snapshot before the upgrade.

Anyone else having trouble with f2?

So it appears NI made an accident and some of us happened to get it.  I guess we are technically a patch beta now?

I only mess around with 2020 when I need to in order to help on the forums.  Other than the initial issue that I resolved by reinstalling, I have not ran into issues.

I'm waiting until I can oversee the issues mentioned here 😁.

I don't know what f2 is supposed to fix, and apparently some things got worse.

However, my colleague had to install it because f1 was missing, so we might have some beta test feedback soon.
