Is it possible to set what colors are used when a string is blinking? I am able to set the forground, but not the background color.

If you are using LabVIEW 6 then select Options from the Tools menu. Select Colors from the drop down list in the Options dialog and change the Blink Background setting. If you are using LV 5 I think its under Edit>>Preferences, but its been a while.
