Internal Error 2727 netscape6pluginsdir

I had previously installed Labview 6.1 for some testing for documentation purposes. I had had Netscape 6 installed as well.

I've uninstalled Netscape 6. Now, I cannot uninstall the NI Labview Run-time Engin 6.1 from Control Panel. Also, when I attempt to run some select programs on my machine, I receive the following error:

NI Labview Run-Time Engine 6.1

Internal Error 2727: NETSCAPE6PLUGINSDIR

How can I correct this error? I receive 5 or 6 of these errors upon every startup. It's quite frustrating.

This is a problem with the Microsoft Installer Framework. One solution is to reinstall Windows 😞

If you knew which registry keys to update this would probably take a
minute to solve. Unfortunately, most registries are a rats nest. The
first thing I'd do is uninstall LV6.1 runtime, then reinstall it. You
might also try doing a repair to the LV6.1 installer -- if you want to
further trust the MS installer genies.

The problem is that I can't uninstall the LV6.1 runtime. Each time I try, I receive an uninstall error and the uninstall will not proceed.

EXCELLENT!

Worked exactly as described. No more error messages!

Thanks so much.

PS - NI should put a link to this problem in it's support or FAQ sections. I can't be the only person who's ever had this issue.

Thanks again!

Has anyone got an up-to-date link for this?

Hey Warren!

Here is an up-to-date link to that thread.  The actual solution went like this:

Here is my guess as to what happened:
1. You had Netscape installed on your machine.
2. You installed the LabVIEW Run-time Engine which installed the remote panel plugin into Netscape.
3. You uninstalled Netscape.
4. You are trying to uninstall the LabVIEW Run-time Engine.

If this is correct, then try installing Netscape again, uninstall the LabVIEW Run-time Engine, and finally uninstall Netscape again.

Hope this helps!
