LabVIEW installation of all the development features takes a LONG time and has to be attended. If anything goes wrong during the installation (not that anything can go wrong in a Microsoft operating system), the installation has to be restarted… FROM THE BEGINNING. Along with having to reselect all the options wanted in the delivery, the annoyance is immense. There needs to be a “Continue” feature where it picks up from where the last installation attempt left off.
There should also be the ability to deliver and run LabVIEW without the need to have an administrator account on the delivered platform. I’m a contractor to the government and only IT support has administrative privileges on network connected platforms. All our LabVIEW platforms have to be off the network. This may not seem to be a problem to you, but it is endless annoyance to us. LabVIEW expects to have access to the internet. This limits many features; registration, patches and updates, retrieving help, etc.
