Install Student verson on Mac OS X

Hi, anybody install the student version of LabVIEW 7.1 on Mac OS X?

I got the installation CD's, which is a pack of 4 CD-ROM's. One seems to be training files for Windows only, Two are for extra toolkits, and the last one contains the basic software package.

Either this CD only has the Windows installation files, or I am totally missing where to find the Mac installers. Parent Directory on the installer CD has autorun.exe, setup.exe, and similar, but no .dmg or similar files. Anybody else successfully do this?

I do have the license and product numbers, so if the Mac installers are actually not included, is it possible for me to download the version from NI's site?

Thanks,

LabVIEW 7.1 Student Version is only available for Windows, not for Mac OS X.
The evaluation version available on our ftp site is also only available for Windows.

Hi Scott, thanks for replying.

I find this to be very disappointing, because the data sheet for the student USB-6008 kit specifically mentions Mac OS X as being supported, as noted here : http://www.ni.com/pdf/products/us/20043762301101dlr.pdf. And the data sheet specifically lists the "Labview Student Edition" as being shipped with it.

Additionally, looking at the Frequently Asked Questions for the Labview 7 Express Student Edition, Mac OS X is also specifically listed as being supported : http://www.ni.com/labviewse/labviewse_faq.htm

I find this very disappointing, as a student I barely have enough money to buy the student kit, and I looked up both products to ensure they would work as advertised. But apparently they don't.

LabVIEW Express Student Edition (LabVIEW 7.0) is supported by Mac OS X (version 10.2 and higher).
Additionally, DAQmx Base 1.4 for OS X supports LabVIEW 7.0 and the 6008, and supports Mac OS X with version 10.3

As long as you have OS X 10.3 you will be able to use your hardware with LabVIEW 7 Express Student Edition, but there is not currently a LabVIEW 7.1 Student Edition Available for your system.

I would suggest calling your sales representative at (888) 280-7645, or sending an email through this link
to discuss how we may help you resolve these version issues.
