Where is your VI?  We can't help you with your VI if you don't attach it to your post.

What timer are you talking about?  What power supply?

Solution for what?

Please attach the VI and an actual question rather than just throwing out a few phrases and asking for a "solution" to that.

When I turn ON the power supply, data is serially read through the com port.
My objective is to check if the device is connected or not. If the power supply is off device is not connected else it is connected.
Another goal is once the power supply is switched on I need to wait for 60seconds.
If the data is not read within 60 seconds I need to display as device not connected.
I hav used VISA Read for reading from the port

We cannot "give you the solution for this".  We don't know (because you haven't told us):

  • What hardware you are using.
  • What software you are using (we can guess "some version of LabVIEW").
  • What "the VI" means (we need to see the actual VI, so attach your VI -- pictures are useless).
  • What you mean by "the timer" -- hardware?  software?  invisible to us.
  • What you mean by "the power supply".
  • What you mean by "the com port" (when I think of a Com port, I think of something on my PC, which comes "on" when I "turn on the Power Supply" by pressing the PC's Power button).
