How to write a program to read data through PXI?

Hi folks,

I want to develop a program to read external data acquired through PXI through LabVIEW. So far, I have managed to detect the PXI chassis (PXI-1033) and the RIO (PXI 7813R) through MAX. I have an SCB connector block, which I plan to feed in my signal.

Any idea how I should go about this?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Anoop

Advice: Read the LabVIEW tutorials/basics.

Seriously, a bit of time spent now understanding the fundamentals will pay off hugely in the future. Also have a look at the example programs that ship with LabVIEW (Help >> Find Examples)

Of course you can post back if you hit a specific problem and people will be more than happy to help, but it's best if you at least have a go at it first.

Thanks for the reply.

I have decided to take a step back and actually look at the PXI-7813R for now.

As I understand, The PXI-7813R has a reconfigurable I/O and an FPGA module. Using this I/O module, I can feed in signals/data into the PXI.

1) Does the I/O module have to be programmed if I were to 'see' the data read/wrote in to the PXI?

Once the data is read/wrote in, I will have to feed them into the FPGA module.

2) So, do I have to program a specic FPGA module for this on labview, based on the data in?

Note: the data will be fed in through an external device, which will supply 6 different waveforms/signals.

Thanks, Anoop
