How to read/write protect a Word document created by Save Report to File VI

Hi all,

I need to protect from reading and writing a word document created by Save Report to File VI. However, when I wire a password to this VI, the file is only protected from writing but not from reading. When opening the file with word, it keeps the option "Read only", therefore the data are not protected...

Any simple way to protect the file both from reading and writing?

You can use the Report Generation toolkit Word Macros along with a macro created in Word to password protect your document.  Using active X controls is another option as well.
