That does fix it, but I'm not sure why it would lock (or rather keep locking) the VI? The event finishes immediately, and the FP should be unlocked immediately.

 

Unregistering after the event structure each iteration works too.

 

Anyway, I don't see a very good use case for registering in the loop (but outside the event structure), so not registering in the loop (or inside the event structure) seems like the default workaround.
