How to name collums in a spreadsheet?

Hello..

I have search this forum for an answer, but havent found it yet.

I am using a "write to measurement file"  to log 2 channels. All of this goes well.
When I open the .lvm file in excel it shows the top collum on each channel as "Untitled" and "Untitled1".
Anybody have any clue on how to name them??

I have a picture of the excel sheet to show what I mean, and a VI to show the program.

Thanx

Tommy

Hi Tommy,

I had a go at recreating your vi from the picture you posted, and my VI worked fine so I'm at a loss to why mine worked and your's didn't Smiley Indifferent

I've attached mine, hoping that it maybe of some help.

Hi

@SandmanUK
Your vi does not work the way Tommygh wanted it to. The signals are also entitled "untitled" and "untitled1".

The behaviour you can see here is a reason for me to do all things by myself rather than use express vis, as you do not really know how they work and you may find something you need to be different but can not change it.

Hello...
hmmm....I don`t think you understood what I ment. The file you posted doesnt work.  If you have a closer look at the excel file, you will se that
the names at the top of the two collums are named "Untitled" and "Untitled 1". I were woundering if there are any way to change these name?

Basically I would say no. Due to the fact that you're using an express vi, you want to configure all the necessary settings. Obviously, these names are not configurable. Well you could convert the vi and get into the subvis to find the place where this title is written. But as these are NI vis, it is not recommended to change them.
If you need the titles, I'd rather suggest you to write the data on your own. Then you can write whatever you want.

I agree, becktho.  I'd try and write my own function rather than use the Express VIs for this purpose.
