How to import a matlab file into labview to sort

I'm working on a project which requires to import a MATLAB file into a LabVIEW program that could understand and sort the data into three different categories maybe by word recognition from the code. I was thinking that the labview program would grab the matlab code with sentences of information for three different categories in it that be sorted out in labview somehow. Does anyone know how to do this?

I'm not fully sure what you mean, loading data from a .mat file or running some matlab script, but anyway both are possible.
