How to get the signal from the microphone.

I am trying to creat a VI that will allow me to recieve a sound signal from the microphone input on my sound card process the signal in anyway I see fit (such as changing the bit rate and adding and subtracting noise, etc...) and then output the resulting signal to the audio output on my sound card. If any additional information is required I will be happy to provide.

Hi,
youmay try to use functions from
Functions->Graphics & Sound->Sound
palette.
There are some easy to use VIs.
Also there are "Sound Input" and "Sound Output" subpalettes which allow you to read/write data from you soundcard with many options.

Also I think you must have full-duplex card to make read/write simultaneously.
