How to change the Linux operating system of a chassis NI 9149 (NI Linux Real-Time) and install the Windows' modules?

Hello NI Community,

The issue I am facing right now is that I uninstalled the previews modules from the chassis NI-9149 (it was a chassis format), because LabVIEW couldn't see both the Chassis and the Cards on it, to install them again. So, when I followed the instructions the NI page provides for the chassis' connection to the computer, I somehow installed the Linux modules (thus the Linux operating system), because they were the only available for installation MAX provided.

I cannot find a way to reinstall the windows modules (the operating system of the computer is Windows) and see the chassis in LabVIEW VIs.

I tried to format the chassis, but when I the same Linux modules appear during the installation process.

I have installed LabVIEW (32bit), NI FPGA Module (32bit) and CompactRIO in this order that is needed. (Version 2021)

Does anyone know how to solve this problem I created?

Thank you in advance!

What exactly are you trying to get work? I didn't think the 9149 had an option to be Windows so I'm unsure of what you were previously doing.

Hello Jacob. We have a PWM Card, which connects to the chassis, and I want to program it through LabVIEW. I'm sure that this Chassis is able to work with Windows' modules as well. Actually, these modules exist in the computer, but I cannot see them in the chassis when I use MAX.

You are expected to not see any modules under NI-9149 in NI MAX. Each C Series I/O module interfaces with the FPGA. Therefore, NI-MAX is not able to determine which C Series modules are inserted.

Reference: CompactRIO C Series Modules Not Showing in NI MAX (Although the KB is written for cRIO but applies to NI-9149.)

You can detect the modules in LabVIEW project explorer. See Setup Guide for Ethernet RIO Expansion Chassis
