How to Get IFM SM8601 Flowmeter Reading in LabView using USB-6008

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I have connected an IFM SM8601 flowmeter to an NI USB-6008 using the analog input. My goal is to get the flowmeter reading in GPM shown in LabView. I am unfamiliar/new to LabView. Is there a simple way to get the flowmeter reading shown in LabView?

Thank you

Yes, there is!

The sensor outputs a standard voltage signal (of 0…10V), does it?

You are already able to measure that voltage signal using your USB6008?

And now you want to convert that voltage reading into a volumeflow value?

Did you read the manual of your sensor?

All you need to do is to apply a (linear) scaling on your voltage value, using the same values as are configured in your sensor (regarding its voltage output signal and its measurement range). You can do so using simple math functions or by applying a DAQmx scale to your voltage reading DAQmx channel…
