How should I use LabVIEW to control a camera that tracks things?

I am working on a project that uses cameras to track things. I want the cameras to be integrated in one system. Can you tell me how I should do this or do you have any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Hi Elle,

Welcome to the NI Discussion Forums! Please post any image processing or machine vision-related topics in the Machine Vision boards next time.

To answer your question, we'll need some more details. Primarliy:

- What kind of objects are you tracking?

- What environment (lighting conditions, background objects) etc. will you be working in?

- How fast are the objects moving (i.e. what framerate will you need)?

In terms of selecting camera hardware to work with LabVIEW, please refer to this document: Is My Camera Supported by National Instruments?

Also, a search for "Object Tracking" or "Pattern Matching" on our forums yields many relevant results to your application, such as:

pattern matching program

Please take a look through these resources and feel free to post again if you require clarification.
