How might I recover a text file that I overwrote by invoking Open/Create/Replace?

I lost a 100 MB file when I re-ran my program and accidentally responded 'yes Replace file xxx.dat' in the Open/Create/Replace File advisory dialog box. I then did not acquire any data. So now, the file xxx.dat is empty, 0K size. The Open/Create/Replace File function value is set to 2, which according to the help file, "replaces a file by opening the file and setting its end of file to 0." Is there any way to reset the end of file value and set it to an approximately correct value? Are there any tools from vendors that would let me restore this file? I'm running Labview 6.0 for windows.

In times past, I would have used Norton Disk Doctor for this type of problem. I have not used any of these tools lately to see how good their recovery mechanism is. I would assume that you have permanently lost at least some of your file.
