How do you install labview 2012 onto a cRIO-9068

Does anyone know if it is possible to install labview 2012 onto a cRIO-9068?

See Attached:

This is after installing all of the LV2012SP1 Drivers for it.

Hi Timmar,

when the cRIO9068 was presented on the last NI event it was clearly told: It's a new device and new devices are supported by the latest LabVIEW version.

So the cRIO9068 is supported by LV2013. Older LV versions don't support newer hardware.

(Things might be a little different for DAQmx, but also here you have some deadlines for hardware support of older/newer devices and/or software support for older LV versions.)

Best regards,
GerdW

I cannot find this in any of the documentation.

Here's what I get when I Click on "Software Support and Compatibility for CompactRIO"

Thanks for the heads up.

Helpful information:

Link to a hint that it may not be supported

Unhelpful Information aka a Rant::

To Quote Douglas Adams:

Prosser: But the plans were on display.

Arthur Dent: On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar.

Prosser: That's the display department.

Arthur Dent: With a torch.

Prosser: The lights had probably gone.

Arthur Dent: So had the stairs.

Prosser: But you did see the notice, didn't you?

Arthur Dent: Oh, yes. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign outside the door saying "Beware of the Leopard." Ever thought of going into advertising?

Hey Timmar,

A document that I like to reference in regards to OS and RT Version on controllers is this,

What Operating System is my Real-Time Controller Running and Why?

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/35F1FD98520D6E0E8625783A005AF557

Our LinuxRT OS was released in the 2013 version of LabVIEW Real-Time. You can get some more clarification on which OS's ship with which module by looking at the corresponding readme for LabVIEW Real-Time 2012 and LabVIEW Real-Time 2013.

Timmar,

I think the link you were trying to use was this. This link can be found in the cRIO-9068 user manual. The manual points to an info code: rdsoftwarerevision. If you navigate to ni.com/info you can enter this code and it should point you to the page.

Best,

Thanks Tanner, I had forgotten about that one! It is very likely the source of the KB I listed.

Thanks for the links to the information,

All retrospective of course, my hitch hikers reference is still relevent.

There is no indication or links in any of the sales information about this.

May I suggest that NI make this clear in the sales material that it is only compatable with LV2013.

For a number of us in Labview Land, LV2013 is still in beta and not suitable for deployment in the field.

Labview quality aside, we develop a family of products and support them for many years. We do software patches and upgrades remotely by copying .RTEXE's onto the controllers.  The software is under source control.

Each time we jump LV versions we need to do a site visit to upgrade the firmware or dead-end the codebase or the customer software, neither of which is desirable.

Still not sure what to do with the cRIO-9068 that is currently propping my office door open.
