How do i connect a smoke alarm to labview

I have a smoke alarm EI100b, i need it to connect to labview. When the smoke alarm activate the labview will show an output message. By the way im also using the NI ELVIS 2+. Thx

You need to contact the manufacturer of the smoke detector to see if there is anyway to interface with it.

duplicate post....again, try looking on the PCB for an IC switch(i.e., transistor, mosfet,voltage comparator, driver....)then take a voltage differential. You can do your part by naming the IC's(U#) or transistors(Q#) on the board. btw, show us your VI and what you have done so far?
