How do I update a network variable once created

Highlighted

I created a custom control to use as a network variable, but once I create it and try to modify if, the instances to not update. Also, when I create a specific type such as two strings and two buttons, it does the machine does not allow me to create a different version of the cluster with slightly different names. How can I fix this?

Hi Steve,

In order for updates to your control to be seen in your VI, you need to save the control as either a type definition or a strict type definition. The creating custom controls link below explains what a type def is.

As far as your second question is concerned, can you be more specific as to what you mean? Could you post a screenshot of what you're trying to do, or what error you receive?

Thanks
