How can I record what the sound card is outputting?

Very good point,  I didn't do it yet, but your right!!!!
And of right now the record feature seems to work very well.

Well that is what I did to test it, but you will have to do intermediate file writes, as your memory will fill up.  And this is what I'm working on now.

I think it would be possible. I'll try it tonight. I have an X-fi sound card in that system. It should be able to record with the software that came with the card. I think it saves at 96kHz.

Ok, now tell me does anyone know how to store to disk "on-the_fly"(stream).  I seem to remember an example that did this, but I can't find it anymore.
Any help, would be, well, a help....

Yes, you can record streaming audio with the labview record sound vi. My X-fi software also has recording capability into mp3,wav,wma in stereo and mono.
