How can I access the instrument driver network through a proxy

How can I access the instrument driver network through a proxy, I can't find any way to configure LabVIEW to route internet requests through our proxy server.

I did a quick little monitoring test and it appears that port 1502 is being used. Perhaps if you configure your proxy to allow communication on that port it will work. I don't believe there's a way to change that port, though there may be a "secret" LabVIEW.ini key for it.

Please see this KnowledgeBase article: What Ports Do I Need to Open on My Firewall for National Instruments Software Products? The instrument drivers download using active FTP I believe (20 and 21 (Active FTP mode only)).

The link isn't dead. It's just wrong. This is the correct link: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/CEF5A3568A5DA71D8625732800520EA1

Fianlly found the answer - of sorts.

"Note: Connecting to the internet via a proxy server prohibits access of the National Instruments Instrument Driver Network through the Find Instrument Drivers tool. It will give an error that says, "NI Instrument Driver Finder has encountered problems connecting to the instrument driver network. Please verify that your computer is connected to the internet and try again.” To access those instrument drivers, you must either connect directly to the internet or download the drivers directly from Find an Instrument Driver."

Little hard to believe that a company the size of NI can't comprehend organisations using a proxy...
