Getting Connector Pane dynamically

Hello,
I'm thinking about writing a documentation tool and it would be nice to
be able to retrieve the connector pane (icon) from a give VI. There
doesn't seem to be any way using the VI Server does anyone know of
another way? (theres several times that it is used in the Labview
environment but it noticeably absent from any of the documentation
tools shipped with the PDS.
I don't hold much hope But....

Do you wnat the pane with the wires (like in the help)
or simply the iconic picture. If it is the first I would look
at the html doc tool. If it is the latter go to zone.ni.com
and search for icon replace. This is a fabulous tool,
but the part you want simply ex
tracts the icon from the VI binary.

I can give you more specific search criteria if you can not find it.

I use a Mac, so hopefully you can do the equivalent on whatever computer
you use. In the icon editor, I can select the entire icon using the
selection tool, and then copy it to the clipboard in the normal way. I
can then paste it into a graphics program as an image. Hope you can do
the same.

I guess the image below will help you.

vi icon.pngWith the help of this you can save the icon to a file and even get the image data.

I'm always glad to see people trying to be helpful but do you realize that the original posts here are from 18 years ago?  How did you even find it to reply to?
