Oh yeah that is. I saw a few times when your first method wouldn't work and it needed more hackyness to make it work. I also have seen times when the VIM path didn't appear anywhere in the file. I opened the VI in a hex editor and couldn't find any reference to the missing VIM. But opening it in LabVIEW with the context help would show the expected path. Well I got most of what I wanted out of it and I hope that the feature in 2020 will make this hacky solution unnecessary.
