Get IP of a given Network card by name

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I'd like to get the IP of a network card in my PC referenced by a name. For example: I have three different cards named as "network1", "network2" and "coolNetworkName". I'm looking for a way to get the IP of any of these by calling a VI which takes a network card name as an input (string), and outputs the IP of the card as a string.

Is there a way to achieve this?

thanks.

I have extended the work of paul_cardinale to solve the problem (attached). His original zip is here (worth a kudos): https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/List-of-Network-Adapters-to-Choose/td-p/3915970
