FPGA occurences: NASTY "gotcha" in timeout

Hi everyone,

I'm not happy just now.  I just wasted many hours hunting down a bug that ultimately was due to sloppy labelling by the creators of Labview FPGA.

So beware:  the input labelled "ms timeout (-1)" of "Wait on Occurence" is NOT in MILLISECONDS.  It is in FPGA CLOCK TICKS.   Aaagh!!!

Message to National Instruments:  Please please please make these "special cases" more obvious.  Make the labels say what they mean.  At the very least, make the "pop-up" help window say "Warning for FPGA users: XYZ is different..."

Very sincerely,

Peter Halverson

Peter,

We are sorry that you wasted precious time tracking this down. Typically these special cases should be documented, but apparently this one slipped through the cracks.  I'll verify this bug and get it reported so that we get it fixed!

Thanks for letting us know about the problem.
