External HDD with MyRIO

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello everyone!

I'm having a problem with MyRIO, I don't know if its a problem or I just can't do that.

I know that the letter to identify a memory flash on MyRIO is "/U", I can get the filenames from USB with the box "List Folder", but when I put the external HDD instead the USB, it does not work.

So, what is happening?

Could be the file system? (FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, etc)

Could be the HDD Size? (Its size is 2TB)

The external HDD used is (Toshiba)

Can someone help me, please.

Thank you all and excuse me for my bad english Smiley Embarassed

I got it!

The USB host port supports only drives formatted with FAT16 or FAT32.

The options given by Windows were NTFS and exFAT. So, I had to find a external software to format the HDD with FAT32 and it worked. Smiley Very Happy

I haven't tested this on a myRIO but there is unofficial support for NTFS drives for Linux RT targets that are x86 based from here.
