Excel97 under win200 won't work

Write Table to XL.vi (LabView example) gives ERROR -2147319784 "Old format or ivalid type library in Open Excel and Make Visible.vi"
The object library "Microsoft Excel 8.0 Object Library Version 1.2" does not show up when right clicking on the Automation Refnum and selecting Select ActiveX Class, Browse... Type library listing. It is possible to browse and find the file excel8.olb, but I get the same error message

I think I have seen a post on this before. From what I remember it had to do with a problem in the windows registry. If this doesn't help I would encourage you to contact National Instruments support directly.
