Duty cycle of human pulse

Hi everyone,

i have a question, what does a duty cycle mean when we analisynig a human pulse. What duty cycle means when we talk about it? I understand that is a ratio, but what  informations it gives us?

A duty cycle is defined as the fraction of time a signal is on (definition). There is no obvious definition for a human pulse, which us an analog waveform, but you could think of the duration of the pulse compared to the time between pulses. (There are probably more interesting characteristics to describe a pulse, though.)

Of course it depends on many things, for example HOW you measure the "pulse" (EKG, Photoplethysmogram, pressure sensor, doppler, etc.). Can you show us a typical waveform?

As a first approximation, you could calculate the percentage of time the signal is above e.g. 2.4.

Should be trivial to do. How familiar are you with LabVIEW? What is the datatype of the signal (Array, waveform, dynamic, etc.).

Here's something to get you started:
