Dostmann electric P795 reference thermometer with Labview

Hi,

Has anybody interfaced Dostmann electric P975 reference thermometer with Labview? It has a USB connection and has another software that logs the data. I am using it to calibrate a set of RTDs that is logged into a LAbview program. And since the temperature is not very stable, we wanted to get the reference data and the RTD temperature together in labview to get them synchronized in time.

Thanks

Lawrence

Hi lctan1,

Are you able to get the device recognized in NI MAX at all? I'm not too familiar with this device but will try to do some compatibility checking for you.

The only devices that appear in MAX are serial ports, USBTMC instruments, and those those you create your own driver with the VISA wizard. You need to find out what sort of USB device it is. Check with the vendor or look in Windows device manager. If it's not emulating s serial port, you will have a difficult time unless the vendor has some sort of api for control by third-party software. This is also something you need to check with the vendor.
