Hello guys,
we've got a problem with Agilents in MAX.
The Agilents (static IP-addresses) are connected via LAN on PC.
In the "MAX" we have added the devices manually and saved the names.
After reboot the devices disappear and we have to add they again.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
Best regards:
Alexander

Hello Alexander,
how did you connect the devices to the PC, directly or via router?
Cheers,
Jannis

Hello Jannis,
the devices are connected directly via ethernet hub.
Best regards:

Hi Alex,
what do you mean by saying "ethernet hub" ? You would need a router to connect >1 devices to the Ethernet Card on your host PC (I assume that you have one Ethernet Card installed).
Give me some more information about the system as a whole: how it is connected, Agilent device types, com-protocol that you use (i.e. VISA: LXI, Ethernet,... or even EtherCAT), MAX version and so on.
Cheers, Jannis
FYI: Agilent-VISA is slightly different than NI-VISA, although VISA is a standard... 🙂 MAX uses VISA to communicate with such devices, so that any changes in the protocol could lead to an error.
To avoid any problems, look for drivers either directly under: http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/
or as described here:
Install Instrument Drivers

Hi Alex, something more for you:
In adition to all that stated above and to conclude, you can help me understand by answering the following:
1. How do you configure the Agilent devices under MAX?
2. How do you manually add them to MAX?
3. Do you use Agilent-VISA or NI-VISA?
4. Have you configured the VISA Passport Remote Access on the right way for those devices? (look under Agilent Tools)
5. Why do you want to see them in MAX?
6. What do you need MAX for? Do you want to control the devices, in order to use LabVIEW with it?
The more I know, the more I can help you. 😉
Jannis
