Default I/O state of cRIO-9068 when stopping execution from LabVIEW IDE

I know I've read somewhere about default I/O states and triggering those states based on certain conditions, but can't seem to find it. I want to say it may have been at the C Series module level.

I would like to ensure all I/O is in an OFF/deenergized state whenever I stop realtime execution on my RT Main VI. It would also be acceptable to resume an active running state of the system similar to when you unplug the Ethernet cable, just not freeze and lock the I/O states in their existing state, which is what seems to happen when I hit stop from within the IDE.

Thanks

Hi dest2ko,

what about using a statemachine, which sets your "default I/O states" in its "quit/exit" state?

when I hit stop from within the IDE.

I hope you are talking about a button on your RT-VI frontpanel, but I fear you are using that red stop button in the toolbar menu of that RT-VI! When you use that red button then the result is undetermined because you just break the VI…

(Someone wrote "Using the stop button to exit a VI is like using a tree to stop a car!")

Best regards,
GerdW
