Data Dashboard Connection Error

I'm trying to get my iphone 4S data dashboard to access a shared variable (network published), but get this error when connecting.

Anyone experienced this error?

I can get as far as seeing the project library, but no further.

Hi Dan,

I've had a look at this and have got a couple of questions which will hopefully help us identify the cause of the issue. If you could reply with answers that would be great:

- Is this connection issue present only when using the Data Dashboard?

- Are you able to view the Shared Variables in Distributed System Manager without issue?

- There are a number of ports that need to be open to allow you to use shared variables over your network. Could you ensure that your network is configured for this. Details on the ports that need to be open are given in the following page: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvhowto/psp_firewall/

Yes.

I haven't tried this.  Do you mean I should install DSM on a second PC, and see whether I can view the Shared Variables there?  Or on the original PC?

Yes, I've opened all the ports given on this page.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the information.

- Have you been able to view the shared variables in a project/VI at all on another PC? If this is the case, then you should expect the same results in DSM. However, if this is not something you have tried, it would be worthwhile trying to view them either in a project/VI or in DSM (on another PC) to try and eliminate network issues.

- If you can connect successfully in the previous steps, another thing worth checking is attempting to view these from a laptop/PC with a wireless network connection only to help rule out any restrictions which may apply only to wireless connections.

-The following web page provides a lot of information which should also be useful in troubleshooting:https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-19388

It is definitely worth following the steps given in the "Problem: I can't connect to the Shared Variable Engine" section.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
