[DSC] Trigger an event when programically adding a user defined event or alarm

Hello, is it possible to to trigger an event when LabVIEW programically adds a user defiend event or alarm from the DSC VI's? I would like to utilize the event system rather than polling the Read Alarms.vi and Read Events.vi continuously.
