DAQmx remote system channel list

Is there any way to get a channel list of a remote PXI system from a host PC? I was hoping with the system configuration API I could do it, but I haven't been able to figure it out. I already know that I can have something on the PXI Chassis which uses DAQmx properties to get the channels. But then I'd have to pass them up to the host. I'd prefer to get them directly from the host PC, as is done in MAX when using test panels.

Unfortunately a list of channels is not something’s that readily available from the host machine through the System Configuration API. The most direct approach would most likely be to send the data over from the target, similar to the process you outlined above.
