DAQ 1947 compatibility with LabVIEW 8.0?

Good afternoon guys,

I have a NI cDAQ 9174 and I'm having problems to make it run in LabVIEW 8.0. I installed the latest drivers available, and although LabVIEW recognizes the DAQ, I can not use it in any application. Also the VI icon DAQ assistant disappeared when I installed the drivers.

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem of incompatibility?

Well, there's your first problem.  The last version of DAQmx to be compatible with LabVIEW 8.0 was DAQmx 8.9.  But the first version to support the 9174 was DAQmx 9.0.2.  So you need to upgrade to at least LabVIEW 8.2.

Sorry for my unawareness, but I can upgrade my version of Labview for free?

And if so, how could do it?

Thank you very much for the inconvenience.

Hi Martinea,

no, version upgrades usually aren't for free. But to use this hardware you have to upgrade anyway!

You should call your local NI sales representative to discuss any software license issues!

Hello again,

Thanks for your help, finally I got a version of Labview 12.0; but according with this comparation chart I do not know if there will be some driver problems with my DAQ-9174:

So, should I have to install some different drivers? And if so, what drivers would I have to install?

Thank you for helping me

Hi me,

for LV2012 you will need atleast DAQmx9.5.5. This is a more current version than what came with your old LV8.0.

So: yes, after installing LV2012 you will need to install a more recent DAQmx version too…

Best regards,
GerdW

You said in your original post that you installed the latest version. That is 14.1 and as you can see from the chart you posted, it is compatible. You will need to reinstall though to make the functions visible in LabVIEW.
