Current VI's Path is blank when wired to indicator

Solved!
Go to solution

I am building an ActiveX executable to be controlled from another language (Visual Basis, C++, etc.).  So in creating the object, I need the vi path.  I don't know why, but the expected path is giving an error.  I wanted to double check the VI path so I added an indicator to the Current VI's Path.  The indicator is blank when I run the VI.  How can that be.

LabVIEW 2010 SP1, Windows XP Service Pack 3

VI was originally in LabVIEW 2009, and the I upgraded.  Some sub VIs hav been added from previous LabVIEWs (as far back as version 6 possibly).

Thanks,

   Javi

Nevermind...it stemmed from several things.  One is that when you click on a vi through a project the application path is different than if you just opened up the vi.  And the other thing was using the open vi reference and the methods to intialize controls.  Is there a way to delete a posting?

You could always ask the admin to delete it (under Options).

I would recommend that you leave the post here so that it may help someone else in the future.
