Counter with NI-9375

Solved!
Go to solution

I am using a NI-9375 connected to a CDAQ 9184 to collect the output from an inductive proximity sensor (DI0 input on the NI-9375).  The proximity sensor is used to count the rotations of a wheel attached to a motor.  The edge of the wheel has a screw that trips the proximity sensor each time it comes around.  The desired result is a counter that counts the rotations of the motor.  The NI-9375 does not have a built-in counter.  How do I use LabView to count the output of the proximity sensor?

Usually one uses the counter of the cDAQ-chassis for that.

Hi,

could you please go in more depth in explaining how to use the cDAQ counter?

how to bring it in use in Labview VI or programming?

I was also recommended to use shift registers for the same. please share a link or video on both: Shift registers and cDAQ counters.

Hi Redox,

instead of videos you could read the KnowledgeBase articles by NI like this
