Copy project containing EtherCat device with problems

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

recently I stumbled upon this problem:

When copying a full project (means: copy complete project folder with all dependencies) containing a cRIO realtime target with an EtherCat device (9144) connected from one (development) PC to a (development) laptop the project lost all the EtherCat settings. As the project file is the only place to store the EtherCat settings (modules, names, slots) it's quite annyoing to have to recreate all those settings...

I use LV2010SP1 for all cRIO developments, upgrading is no option so far...

Anybody else with the same problem? Any solution to this problem?

Best regards,
GerdW

Well it works on my testsystem. Could it be that your target system does not have one of the driver or module options installed that your source system had? LVRT, RIO, NI-ECAT? Does it have the same versions?

Can you post your projectfile, or a smaller example that shows the problem?

Hi Dirk,

thanks, mentioning the NI-ECAT driver was the hint needed.

Other projects including cRIO/FPGA worked without problem, but now it's the first one with an EtherCAT device involved that was copied to the laptop...

Best regards,
