Controlling a VI via the Web browser requires administrator privileges - why ?

Dear Colleagues,

we have here an application VI which we control remotely via the Internet Explorer from a couple of Notebook PCs (Win XP). Everything works fine except for ONE Notebook which only shows the Header and Footer and the empty frame where the VI should be  😞

This particular Notebook behaves well though (front panel shows correctly) if we log in as Administrator.

It seems to me that there must be some (firewall?) setting, which we need to correct ... does anybody have an idea ??

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hello Hurban,

the Remote Panels only use the Port 80 for http communication --> Remote Panels Through a Firewall or Proxy Server)

Have you tested the access with another browser?

Is the activeX communication blocked as you looked in as a user?

Is the LabVIEW RunTime engine installed, that it can be used by the user?

best regards
Alexander

Hi Alex,

thank you for the valuable suggestions. Unfortunately I do not have this PC here at the moment, so it will take a while until I can look into the details of this phenomenon.

I will keep you posted on any findings

Thanks again
