Control a Delta Elektronika Power Supply ES 030-10 using Labview

Dear Gred ,

Thank you a lot for the advices , and I proceeded as you suggested ,

I have just 2 more questions ,

For controlling the Voltage /Current should i use the PWM technique ?

is it possible to generate different kind of output ramps, stairs without using FPGA ?

Hi Mary,

For controlling the Voltage /Current should i use the PWM technique ?

Your device expects analog signals! So NO, you cannot use PWM here…

is it possible to generate different kind of output ramps, stairs without using FPGA ?

Why do you think a FPGA would be needed or neccessary at all?

No, you don't need a FPGA - a simple DAQ device (like the cheap USB600x boxes from NI) is sufficient…

GerdW

Dear GredW,

you said that in order to to generate different kind of output ramps, stairs, i need 'a simple DAQ device (like the cheap USB600x boxes from NI)',

Does this mean that i need to use a DAQ device together with the Myrio in order to aquire/set output voltage/current of the Power Supply?

I am sorry for this basic question , but I found no example of analog programming of a DC power supply using the Myrio , they only use Data Acquisition devises .

Hi mary,

Does this mean that i need to use a DAQ device together with the Myrio in order to aquire/set output voltage/current of the Power Supply?

AFAIK the myRIO also brings some AO channels. Use them to control your PSU…

Best regards,
GerdW
