A project I am working will have 3 USB-6501s. When the development is done this will be moved to several machines as an application.
When that application fires up for the first time on the new machine, which of the 3 USB 6501 will be Device 1? Or how does my application know that a particular device is hooked up to particular DIO lines?
Will I need to use some DIO lines as a key to identify which one is which? For instance, bits 0 and 1 are 00 for device 0, 01 for device 1 and so on?
Will every target machine need to be configured in MAX the first time? We would prefer not to install MAX on all the machines.
What if the USB plugs get switched around?
Thanks!

Hi 2verb,
you can edit the device labels in MAX on each target machine.
Or you read the serial number of each USB6501 and compare those serials with a database (might be a real database or just a text file…) to assign the DAQ hardware according to your physical setup…
