Com Port PC and NI 9870

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out how to fix a problem communication with an external device and the cRIO over the NI9870.

Communication works with the standard Com Port on the PC. Communication via the NI9870 doesn't.

Question is: Whats the difference between the NI9870 Port and a standard Com PC Port?

Hello Chris,

you have two options. Please have a look at this KB: 

Using the NI 987x Modules in Scan Mode - National Instruments

and on the example  NI-987x Serial Loopback.lvproj

You can find this example in the example finder easily if you limit results to hardware (see screenshot)
