Change Printers

Here is a picture to show getting the printers list and default printer from registry keys. Not sure if these vi's are in 6.0.2

Thanks Donald, that works. Not as clean as I want, but I can choose the Printer.

Another alternative for LV6.0.2 may be the two VI's that Jean-Pierre Drolet posted at the end of a thread  here  in 2001 which use Active X/Windows Scripting Host Object.

Here is a version that uses prnmngr.vbs to read the printers list, then the default printer, then change the default printer to a different printer. This is a 7.0 format file. I also saved two graphics of the block diagram. I could not save it back to 6.1 due to changes in the system exec vi.

Try this file in 6.0 format. I saved it back two versions so I'm not sure if it is runnable when opened. If not, the system exec.vi may need to be fixed in three places.

Or you can use Window API call.  GetDefaultPrinter & SetDefaultPrinter are very simply calls.
See attached llb.
